Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 August 2026 · Applies to juliepeel.com
1. Acceptance of these terms
In short: use the site fairly, treat our research as informed opinion rather than gospel, and remember that any contract you sign with a studio is between you and them. The sections below spell that out in the detail lawyers expect.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form the agreement between you and Julie Peel ("we", "us") that governs your use of juliepeel.com. By accessing or browsing any page of the site you accept these Terms in full; if you do not agree with any part of them, your only remedy is to stop using the site.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we handle data. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
2. What this site is
juliepeel.com is an independent editorial publication that researches, reviews and ranks game app development companies. The site exists to help businesses and individuals choose a development partner with better information than marketing materials alone provide.
We are a review platform, not a software developer, agent, broker or reseller. We are not a party to any contract you may enter into with a company featured on this site, and we receive no visibility into such contracts.
3. Editorial independence and ratings
Our rankings, scores and reviews represent the professional editorial opinion of the Julie Peel research team, formed through portfolio analysis, client interviews and publicly available information. They are opinions, not statements of objective fact, and reasonable people applying different criteria could reach different conclusions.
Ratings are reviewed periodically and may change as new information becomes available. A company's commercial relationship with us — or the absence of one — never determines its position in the ranking.
If a featured company materially changes — key staff leave, it is acquired, or client complaints emerge — we re-examine its entry. Where the evidence no longer supports a place in the top 5, the company is removed at the next scheduled review.
4. Affiliate disclosure
We may receive a referral fee or commission when you follow a link from this site to a featured company and subsequently engage its services. This is how the site is funded and it costs you nothing extra.
Compensation may influence which companies we choose to review, but it does not influence the scores or the order of the ranking, which follow the editorial methodology described above. We disclose this relationship prominently in the site footer as well as here.
Referral arrangements never give a partner the right to preview, edit or veto our content. No company has ever been shown its review before publication, and that policy is not negotiable at any price.
5. No professional advice
All content on this site — including cost estimates, process descriptions and best-practice guidance — is general information, not professional, legal, financial or technical advice tailored to your situation. Software procurement decisions carry commercial risk that only you can assess.
Before committing to any development contract, conduct your own due diligence: request references, review contracts with a qualified lawyer, and validate cost estimates against multiple quotes. Our content is a starting point for that work, not a substitute for it.
6. Third-party websites and services
The site contains links to websites operated by third parties, including the development companies we review. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or business practices.
Following a link is at your own discretion. Any dealings you have with a third party — including negotiations, contracts, payments and disputes — are strictly between you and that party, and any terms they impose are theirs, not ours.
7. Intellectual property
The text, design, graphics, logos and code of juliepeel.com are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Company names and marks belonging to reviewed studios remain the property of their respective owners and are referenced for identification only.
You may view, download and print pages for your own internal business use. You may not republish, scrape, resell or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except for brief quotations with attribution and a link.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site: no attempting to breach security, probing for vulnerabilities, injecting malicious code, scraping at volumes that degrade service, or using the site to transmit unlawful material. The support chat must not be used to send abusive, defamatory or illegal content.
We may restrict or block access from addresses or networks engaged in such conduct, without notice and without liability, and may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
9. Accuracy of information
We work hard to keep reviews, prices and company details current, but the software development market moves quickly: teams change, prices rise, companies merge or close. Information on this site may therefore be out of date at the moment you read it.
Content is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Always verify critical facts directly with the company concerned before relying on them.
If you spot an error of fact — a wrong founding year, an outdated service list, a broken link — please tell us via the support chat. Verified corrections are published promptly, and we note the change where it materially affects a review.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss — including lost profits, lost data or wasted expenditure — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or any linked third-party service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to £100.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site, to the extent such claims result from your acts or omissions.
This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own breach of these Terms or our negligence. We will notify you promptly of any claim subject to this clause and allow you a reasonable opportunity to manage its defence.
12. Changes to the site and these terms
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time — including adding or removing companies from the rating — without notice or liability. We may also revise these Terms; the "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
Material changes will be signposted on the home page for a reasonable period. Your continued use of the site after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of them; if you disagree, simply stop using the site.
13. Governing law and contact
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK retain any mandatory protections and forum rights of their home nation.
Questions about these Terms can be raised through the support chat on any page, or by post to Julie Peel, Legal, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We aim to respond within five working days.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remainder continues in full force. A failure by us to enforce any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
